Stress is a normal physical response which we all experience every day. You may have heard of the “fight or flight” reaction which is also known as the stress response. The stress response helps protect us as we meet daily challenges. It keeps us on our toes, keeps us mentally alert, it allows us to perform to our very best. The problem comes when we find ourselves in a constant state of alert where the body does not relax from the stress response. At this point, stress stops being helpful to us and in fact, begins to negatively impact on our lives.
